Because of the disgustingly early start this morning, I feel that I have had quite a good day, really. The lecture was done before the sun had set -- it's setting noticeable later now! Yay!

The Marquis and I went for an itty-bitty walk around the park and took a look at some of the flooding there in one of the bits that's 'land-locked' but as low as the river. It's cold again, so we didn't stay out too long. We we came back in, the Marquis made us hot chocolate and we watched Time Team. While we did this, I spent some time sorting through some long overdue paperwork and banking. Feel virtuous now...

Told my Dad about this lj today -- hi, G'Lon, in case you are reading this! He called to say thanks for the translation work. :-)

Isn't it weird how when you decide not to go for a walk, because the weather was so crappy yesterday, then the sun shines brightly all day (with a bit of snow thrown in for free). Anyway, it meant I have my lecture done and ready to go for tomorrow, without having to work late. So now it's time to do some self-indulging. :-)

Today's quote for your delectation: "Leben ist immer lebensgefährlich!" (Erich Kästner, 1899-1974)
("Life is always life-threatening!")

Did another MBTI earlier on, ENFP again.

You need electricity for it...

Went for our walk as planned and thought of [livejournal.com profile] beckyc up a fell!

Completely exhausted when we got back -- and feeling pathetic at my level of unfitness -- I napped on the sheepskin in the livingroom, while the Marquis did similarly in the bedroom. We both woke right on time for Time Team, one of our favourite TV programs, which promised to be particularly good, but... there was a powercut! One of the amusingly long variety, which lasted for about two hours. It really brought home how much we depend on 'lectricity in our little house here: can't cook without it, or update lj or email friends or watch DVDs... [grins].

Out came the candles, and I used the time to update my paper journal which I hadn't written since last weekend. Then I read some LotR to the Marquis -- the bit where Aragorn rides back to Dunharrow to take the Paths of the Dead and speaks there with Eowyn.

LotR Dramatic reading wittering )

Anyway, since we've got power back now, it's time to sort out some sort of dinner, do some ironing and go to watch Midsomer Murders on TV -- today's guess on body count: 3. Will tell you after if I got it right... :-)
