Oxonmoot ~ The Report (Second attempt)

I have been very busy with my portfolio of which more at another point and so haven’t got round to doing the report thing until now. But since I want a break from learning and teaching and not being able to find the references that I want to find, here’s my Oxonmoot report instead.

I worked on my website last night, while Tuemi and her friend were watching DVDs. This morning Tuemi asked me if I was narked with them. Um... not really. I was very tired what with the early start packing the Marquis off to Carlisle, and my back/neck is very sore from getting used to new office and job and all (and consequently I was feeling a little sorry for myself). So I'm sorry that I gave the impression I was grumpy. I was just exhausterated. Will try and be more sociable tonight. ;-)

Anyway... today is graduation day here and I need to get dressed up in hood and gown, something I always enjoy. :-)

The new kettle that my office sharer, Nix, has bought for us has just boiled and it's time for a cuppa of genuine English Breakfast tea bought in France, as it were.

I was going to do some marking... Even did some today.

But what with mucking about with website designs and the stick-piccies for SBI -- when we finally get it sorted -- I didn't really do much useful stuff this weekend. And unfortunately my back hurts cos of too much sitting.

Oh well... I guess I needed not to do anything too productive for a bit...

Eventually, I might even catch up with my reading of lj and updating of diary and lj. But not tonight.

P.S. Got some emithering on "Bad Idea" done. :-)

... marking, my friends. I so don't like this part of my job. It is depressing. Especially the bit where I marked a paper yesterday that appears to be plagiarised well and truly. I have ordered the book I think the stuff comes from from the library in Lancaster. Hopefully I'll receive it by Thursday for the unhappy task of trying to identify each instance of plagiarism. This is so sad.

Apart from that, my neck is very sore -- I think I have an irritated possible even inflamed nerve. Don't know what to do about it. Tried ice-pack and ibuprofen gel yesterday, but may need to try and make an appointment with the doctor. Painful neck and marking do not go well together...

But not all is glum. I went to the library today with an armful of books I'd cunningly forgotten to renew last Friday and they didn't charge me for the fine! Yay!

I finally let the Marquis read some of my creative writing scribblings of the last couple of weeks, while I emithered the next installment for Eudesia ('The Private Room').

I didn't go in to work today, until I had finished the job application I was working on. Originally I'd wanted to go past the hairdresser's to make an appointment to have my hair cut, but by the time I was ready to head off I didn't have the time to do that. I went straight to the osteopath in the lovel local drizzle, appreciative of the existence of my recently acquired Drizabone -- apart from my face, I did stay almost as dry as a bone, too.

The osteopath made a not quite catty comment about the fact that I should be able to get my back to start improving rather than just keeping going at the same level of disfunction, but what with all the stress at work and so on, not much is changing. I really need to get back into the habit of going to the gym regularly -- it make a huge difference to my wellbeing.

Work after the treatment wasn't exactly conducive towards inproving the situation with my back.

The current tale of work woe )

I left work slightly early to post the application, then wandered past the hairdresser's and my usual girl had an appointment for tomorrow at 15.15. Now I need to decide what I want her to do.

Hm... I am sure there were a lot more things that I was going to ramble on about when I sat down at the computer, but somehow I can't recall... Oh well... another time.

More headache and bad back. Seeing osteopath tomorrow.

Had a workstation assessment at work today, hopefully that will make a bit of difference.

No meetings today, yay!

Marking to do: blah! Hate it. Assessment should be banned.

Worked on job application, still got to do the inking things in part.

Emither as treat, then bed...
